I am stalled at the moment, I simply don't have the time to work on it.

I currently have 57 games waiting for me to either write them, or port them from flash.

That's as well as my day job.

I kinda figured that might be the case.  Just making sure you hadn't dropped off the face of the earth or anything. :)

I can actually play games by just waving my hands in the air in front of my monitor.  grin

(I am waiting for the neighbours to call the local mental hospital though, it must look a little wierd)

Hah!  That's why I play my imported from Japan direct-to-TV Dragon Quest Sword game and my Wii with the blinds closed.  It's bad enough that the people with me inside the house see me flailing around like an idiot at the TV. grin

The beauty of this for me is that I am learning a hell of a lot about XNA (and the xbox) so when I do have time to come back to this (and SF3) I have a lot more to offer.

The things I am doing with XNA, I honestly don't think microsoft ever dreamed about.

If you look at any successful free or open game project, you see that major contributors often or for long periods get bogged down with real world issues, but what makes their efforts different is that they always come back eventually to help keep things advancing. It's just part of the cycle of things, imo.

This has been a crazy year for me too. My day job, and side jobs are all keeping me very busy. While most of the work I've been doing in the last few months has been on other projects, through these projects we have figured out a lot of stuff that will help with SF3, and make the remake cooler.

Right now it's "feast," but come January it usually tones down for me to "famine" where I have more time. We haven't lost motivation, just very busy with paying jobs at the moment.

I do have a few really good ideas that I want to implement in the Remake, just gotta get the time to work on them.  Wink

Hey, just checking in to see how things are going.  Looks like it's been a little bit since there's been an update on the remake.

These will look great in the remake.

Have you had a chat with MnMinstrel about how to rig them for animation?

We have a fully functioning animation pipeline for SFIII now, MnMinstrel and I have spent a lot of time getting it working but it is now pretty damn good.
All I need to add is animation blending, and it's done.

Multiple named animations in a single FBX file exported directly from blender.

Animation done in a shader for speed.

I have begun work on the Crawleye, renders attached.

For those of you just tuning in, this model will be used to render sprites for Starflight Remake and then the model will be used in realtime in Starflight 3, so fans can consider this publicly visible content progress on both fronts. Cool

When enough of these are complete, I might go for an update of the graphics archive.

Still no luck with the Microsoft site, so I let Stainless upload Alpha 3 to my site. You can grab it here:

http://homepage.mac.com/jh4music/Download/FileSharing9.html

I'll start a separate thread for Alpha 3 comments, bug reports, etc.

That's Microsoft's site not working right.  I think that's what everyone is getting right now.

Trying to download Alpha 3, but when It loads. I come up with a blank screen. The Website itself works fine however.

Yup. Same results on 3 different browsers, 2 different computers with different OS's, and on 2 different networks. Everybody save a pie or two for the next time Bill Gates comes to your city.  Devil (:evil)

It might be the network I'm on right now(or Vista's habit of not letting me download exe files), but when I try to download it I'm just getting an "empty" file that is 0 bytes. I'll try it at home and see what I get.

It's not just you. Happened to me as well, XP as well as Vista. Both times IE7.

Real life has got to me.

Have 2 contracts (C# XNA) to do and lots of things going on in my day job, so not a lot of time left for trivial things like sleeping, eating, etc.

Did have time to get the Slugyte in though, need to add the attack mode but that is pretty trivial.
